Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her early appearances on Broadway included in musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The role she played on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel won her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford will next be seen starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford has been involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. This film is part of a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS successful comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Some other Broadway performances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance she received the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver native who now divides his time in Los Angeles.
